Work Experience

English-Indonesian Game Translator • PT STAR Software Indonesia

July 2024 - Present

In July 2024, I started training as a freelance translator specializing in game translation under PT STAR Software Indonesia. The project manager gave me some materials for training, including the CAT Tool, which is SDL Trados Studio, and the workflow. Before starting the real project, I translated three unpaid projects for training purposes. The training needed me to work remotely.

Account Representative (AR) • Sebelas Maret University

June 2024 - Present

Since June 2024, I have worked temporarily as an account representative (AR) for research and community development (P2M) of the English Diploma Program, Sebelas Maret University. As an account representative, I am tasked with managing administrative processes, making records of costs and remaining budgets, making financial reports, and acting as intermediaries between researchers and LPPM staff.

English-Indonesian Translator • Translation Transfer

October 2023 - May 2024

From October 2023 to December 2023, I joined Google Cloud Platform, a big project under PT Pratama Transsoftware Inti Bahasa, well known as Translation Transfer, as an English - Indonesian freelance translator. I translated approximately 2000 words every day with a CAT Tool, Polyglot, provided by the client.

In May 2024, I worked as an English - Indonesian reviewer for game translation. It was a MOBA game, Honor of Kings. I reviewed the translation through Microsoft Excel and submitted the review via a Chinese website.

I worked on both of the projects from home (WFH) or remotely.

Translation Transfer

I started to intern in Translation Transfer in early 2023. As an intern, I did not perform my skills on real-time projects, but I translated, edited, reviewed, and subtitled the projects that had been finished by the company.

The projects included legal, IT, game, and video subtitles. During my internship, I worked with some CAT Tools and subtitle making tools: WordFast Pro, MateCat, MateSub, and Subtitle Edit.

In Pro Translasi, I learned about subtitling. The subtitling projects were completed by a subtitle tool, Subtitle Edit. This internship often involved analyzing and discussing the purpose and terminology of subtitling. Discussions were often conducted in groups.

Tourist Attraction Writer Intern

During my internship at TVKU Semarang, I arranged and wrote narratives about tourist attractions in Central Java. The narratives were dubbed in English, and the TVKU media staff made the narratives into videos. The videos were published on TVKU's YouTube channel. I also learned about journalism and broadcasting.
