Business or investment
You can come to Taiwan to work by doing general business activities, attending conferences, seminars, trade shows, or entrepreneurial and business investment activities.
Skilled / Highly-specialised work
You can come to Taiwan to work by participating in highly specialized work on a temporary or permanent basis.
Post-study work training and internship
If you are an international student who has recently finished your studies and wishes to live, further study, or work in Taiwan, be mindful of the point system published by the Taiwanese government.
Youth, School, or Staff Exchange Program
If you aren't an international student in Taiwan, you can come to Taiwan to work via a staff exchange arrangement or a particular program.
The Path to Work in Taiwan
Post-Graduation
Students can apply for an "extension of residency" to find a job. The extension will be valid from the day of graduation.
Job Search Period
If necessary, you can re-apply for another extension of residency before the current one expires. Please note that you are not permitted to work during this period.
Receive a Job Offer
After receiving a job offer, graduates need to attach all relevant documents to the Point System for the employer.
Work Permit Application
The employer will use these documents to apply for your work permit with the Ministry of Labor.
Obtain a Work Permit
The Ministry of Labor will complete the review within 7 working days from the day after the documents are received.
