Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working in advertising sales, marketing, consulting, media, or working with advertising agencies.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to interact in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context, and ability to achieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients, and influencing C-level stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of traditional and online marketing strategy and tactics, and product knowledge across all digital advertising products.
  • Ability to strategically assess and solve client needs via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling and competitive selling.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.
  • Excellent thought leadership and high executive functioning within the digital marketing space.

The Mid-Market Sales (MMS) team is a critical growth engine for clients in Google Customer Solutions (GCS) designed to grow medium and large sized fast-growing businesses in Japan. Through long-term relationship development, we’re dedicated to understanding business goals by providing advertising solutions to drive business success.

As an Account Executive, you'll use your working knowledge of advertising and your industry vertical to help your team identify and enable longer-term opportunities by contributing to business plan development, account-level strategy, and annual activation plans. You will support your team in business strategy development, presenting, customer relationship growth, and opportunity sizing. You'll contribute to cross-team collaborations to support customer growth, align on opportunity/project timelines and goals, and ensure Google solutions are presented to customers. You'll develop relationships with customers, acting as a point of contact.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a partnership with executives and serve as a trusted consultant with a firm understanding on industry insights and solutions, optimizing and expanding their advertising investment.
  • Manage a group of businesses by understanding what promotes growth, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks and creating multi-quarter plans for growth.
  • Prioritize and deliver an excellent customer experience to Google's advertisers.
  • Coach junior teammates in the organization proactively to expand skills that cultivate customers growth and contribute to overall team success.
  • Generate plans by collaborating with specialists, engineers and product teams, and define business goals, key strategies and metrics for success.
