Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the enterprise software or cloud space.
  • Experience with Oracle database, Oracle technology products, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with one or more open source database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in customer-facing pre-sales or professional consulting in data and information life cycle management, translating customer business needs into cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with data management architectures, including performant and scalable architectures, security, monitoring, and database management, particularly from an Oracle perspective.
  • Experience with Oracle data migration strategies and in moving large-scale production systems either in on-premise / data center environments or migration to cloud scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), cloud-based high availability architectures, and Oracle database performance tuning.

As a Database Practice Specialist focused on Oracle, you will engage with customers to identify appropriate Oracle workloads for migration to Google Cloud and design the overall deployment architecture. You will also work with partners and Oracle teams to develop migration plans to enable customers to move their Oracle workloads to Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Be an Oracle technology subject matter expert, focusing on Oracle database offerings and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure specifically, knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, including ecompute/Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), storage and networking, and database services.
  • Identify and qualify Oracle business opportunities, lead discovery workshops for Oracle workloads, identify key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Support the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including product and solution briefings on Oracle and database modernization, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination and prioritization of solutions impacting customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Listen to the customer to provide feedback on product improvement to product management and engineering.
