Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in designing and implementing SQL, ETL and Data Warehousing.
  • 8 years of experience managing full implementation life-cycle for delivery of BI and analytics solutions using data integration (ETL) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Experience with Data Modeling, Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization, SQL, Data Warehousing, Data Warehouse Design, Business Analysis, Project Management, Customer Engagement.

Preferred qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, Matlab, etc.).
  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to articulate business questions from datasets (SQL), and using statistics to arrive at a solution.
  • Interest in data, metrics, analysis and trends, with knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business processes and systems, their needs, and formulate a strategy and roadmap of data-leveraged capabilities that leads to measurable improvement in business performance metrics/key performance indicators (KPIs) over time.
  • Conduct analysis that includes data discovery, analysis, requirements gathering, and clarification with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Design, develop, and automate BI and analytics solutions, build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale leveraging internal Google engineering tools and BI industry standard technologies, including ETL, data modeling, and data visualization software.
  • Make business recommendations (e.g.,cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis) with presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
