Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience in business-to-business (B2B) or e-commerce software with a focus on C++ programming language.
  • Understanding of software development principles, methodologies and best practices at Google.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members with the ability to work across boundaries in a distributed team.

The YouTube Commerce team accelerates YouTube's paid ecosystem growth by supporting scalable, compliant, and performant commercial journeys for all our users. We develop the YouTube Commerce Platform, empowering teams to build and launch paid products that create new revenue opportunities for YouTube, creators and partners.

You will be a lead in the YouTube Commerce Applied Benefits team, supporting the mission to accelerate paid product ecosystem for YouTube. To support the growth, Commerce platform is evolving and as a lead in this area, you will focus and help on accelerating the benefits platformization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and evolve the major components of our next-generation benefits infrastructure and provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with Area Tech Leads (ATLs), other engineers, Team Leads (TLs) and cross-functional teams and help align with YouTube Commerce broader architectural efforts.
  • Support the mission to accelerate the paid product ecosystem for YouTube.
  • Focus and help on accelerating the benefits platformization.
  • Contribute to numerous high-impact and visible objectives and key results at YouTube.
