Entry-Junior Frontend Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Frontend Engineer to join our expanding lineup of wireless and broadband solutions. As we broaden our offerings in CPE devices and wireless display products, and cater to a diverse customer base, the demand for frontend development expertise continues to grow.

As a Junior Frontend Engineer at Actiontec, you will help users improve their network management efficiency in a cloud-centric, mobile-first world. You will work closely with designers, frontend engineers, firmware engineers, and product managers to create intuitive, reliable, and high-performance user experiences.

What you’ll do / Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior frontend engineers and the team to maintain and update the company’s core products (such as the Optim web platform, mobile apps, and CPE-related UI), ensuring project goals are met on schedule.
• Receive guidance and feedback, continuously improving code quality and project outcomes, and contributing to the team’s success.
• Write high-quality, maintainable frontend code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6+) to support feature development and performance optimization.
• Work with the UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces that adhere to design guidelines.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (backend, product managers, etc.) to ensure frontend requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of frontend development experience, with solid understanding and practical skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands-on experience with at least one library/framework among React, Vue, or Angular (the team primarily uses React).
• Familiar with Git and related tools, with knowledge of Git flow, GitHub flow, or equivalent development workflows.
• Willingness to continually learn and adopt new technologies as required by the team and business needs.
• Strong team player, capable of effective communication with different roles, proactively sharing ideas, and collaborating to solve problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Hybrid App Development (React Native, Flutter)
  • Backend Languages (Golang, NodeJS, Java)
  • Graphic Development (SVG, D3.js)
  • UI/UX Design Tools (Figma, Sketch)
  • Frontend Testing (Cypress, React Testing Library)
• Practical experience handling cross-platform or browser compatibility challenges.
