Job Description

COMPANY PROFILE:
A leading vertically integrated textile and garment manufacturer in Vietnam with nearly five decades of experience serving global fashion brands. The company is committed to operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement through innovation and automation.

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Department: Garment Manufacturing Division

Role Purpose:

The Plant Director oversees the overall operations of multiple sewing factories (3,000 workers), ensuring production goals in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and compliance are achieved. The role drives process optimization, automation, and performance excellence aligned with the company’s strategic direction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management

  • Oversee end-to-end production across multiple sewing lines and shifts.

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet delivery schedules with high efficiency and quality.

  • Monitor key factory KPIs (Output, Efficiency, OTIF, Rework, Productivity).

  • Coordinate effectively between Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing teams.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with buyer standards (US/EU markets).

  • Maintain certifications and social/environmental standards (WRAP, BSCI, ISO, EHS, C-TPAT).

  • Implement preventive and corrective actions for quality issues.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop production, IE, QA/QC, and HR management teams.

  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

  • Drive workforce planning, training, and succession programs.

Cost & Efficiency / Automation

  • Manage budgets, reduce operational costs, and maximize resource utilization.

  • Lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives and implement automation projects (auto-cutting, sewing automation, RFID, material handling).

  • Partner with engineering teams to evaluate and deploy new technologies.

Strategic & Continuous Improvement Projects

  • Support R&D, Planning, and Merchandising in new product and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Enhance production monitoring, reporting, and process innovation.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Garment Technology, Industrial/Mechanical/Automation Engineering, or related fields.

  • Experience: 12+ years in garment manufacturing, including 5+ years at senior factory management level.

  • Experience overseeing ~3,000 workers in export-oriented operations.

  • Proven success in factory automation and productivity improvement projects.

  • Strong command of Lean Manufacturing, IE methods, and automation systems.

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management ability.

  • Fluent English communication and computer literacy (ERP/MES).
