Job Description

Role Summary

This Chief of Staff (CoS) role is explicitly operator-heavy. It exists to drive execution, impose operating discipline, and close the gap between strategy and reality. The Chief of Staff acts as a force multiplier for the CEO by owning cross-functional initiatives, fixing broken processes, and ensuring that priorities set by leadership are delivered on time and at quality.

This is not an administrative role and not a pure strategy or advisory position. The successful candidate is hands-on, comfortable stepping into ambiguity, and willing to personally own delivery when execution stalls.

1. Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery

  • Strategy Translation: Convert ambiguous strategic goals into concrete project plans with clear owners, milestones, and KPIs.
  • Outcome Ownership: Relentlessly track progress and step in directly to resolve bottlenecks. You don't just coordinate; you unblock work to ensure results.

2. Operating Cadence & Accountability

  • Governance: Design and manage the organization’s heartbeat (e.g., leadership reviews, weekly syncs, and priority tracking).
  • Clarity of Ownership: Establish clear decision rights and accountability across teams to eliminate duplication and execution gaps.
  • Closing the Loop: Ensure leadership decisions are documented, communicated, and followed through to completion.

3. Process Institutionalization

  • Pragmatic SOPs: Identify recurring friction points and build simple, scalable playbooks and templates to fix them.
  • Workflow Optimization: Standardize how work flows through the company—from intake and prioritization to execution and closure.

4. Leadership Leverage & Decision Support

  • Strategic Briefing: Prepare high-quality decision briefs that outline context, trade-offs, and clear recommendations for the CEO/Leadership team.
  • Executive Proxy: Represent leadership in high-stakes initiatives where speed and authority are required, allowing executives to stay focused on macro-level strategy.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience in operations, strategy, program management, consulting, finance, or similar execution-heavy roles.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong bias toward action with comfort operating hands-on when needed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • High integrity, discretion, and comfort handling sensitive leadership and organizational issues.
