Senior Software Engineer(C++)

⭐ Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Software Engineering Department, you will work on designing, developing, and testing semiconductor equipment software systems. This includes conducting timely software requirement reporting and systems development, coordinating software systems support activities with customers, and providing support for software deployment and issue troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in semiconductor equipment and factory automation control software systems design, development, and testing
• Participate in software systems customer support and related test development environment routine maintenance and refactoring
• Provide on-site support for customers in case of complicated software issues
• Provide in-depth information about potential software issues to the software team
• Identify hardware issues with the help of software tools (e.g., debuggers or software logs)
• Perform detailed analysis of process and MTBA/MTBF data and log files to guide process or software optimization
• Serve as a lead technical interface to customers
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and software issues
• Collect data and run experiments to support software sustaining teams
• Prepare internal summary reports and customer presentations
• Support major semiconductor manufacturing clients, including on-site support 
• Travel frequency: approximately one day per week to client sites (can be coordinated with team members)

Essential Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in semiconductor industry, computer, electronics, automation, or related fields
• Bachelor's degree or above in relevant field
• Strong, demonstrated aptitude and deep understanding of highly advanced machinery
• Experience with troubleshooting advanced machinery
• Experience with data analysis methods by developing scripts, such as Matlab or Python
• Experience with software terminology, debugging, and knowledge of C++
• Excellent command of English in both written and verbal communication
• Willingness to travel (approximately 30%, mainly between Hsinchu and Taoyuan)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with flip chip, die attach, or thermocompression bonding
• Experience with basic image processing know-how and use of oscilloscopes
• Experience with Factory Automation and SEMI standards
• Proficiency in MS Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience in semiconductor, equipment manufacturing, or packaging industries
• Previous experience working with major semiconductor manufacturers

1. 30-minute personality assessment interview (with direct manager) in English
2. 2-2.5 hour online technical interview (including C++ assessment)
3. 30-minute interview with European supervisor (behavioral and technical)
4. HR interview
