Job Title: Qt Engineer

Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Company Description:

Our client is an AI drone technology company building for the commercial fishing sector to precisely locate high-value fish species, such as tuna ($42B market in 2023). By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the commercial fishing sector, it is changing how fish are caught to become more sustainable and efficient. The venture backed founding team includes seasoned entrepreneurs and specialists from prestigious organizations, including the US Air Force, Caviar (acquired by Square for $100 million), Uber, YCombinator, NASA's JPL, DARPA, and Office of Naval Research.

Summary:

We actively seeking a skilled and experienced Qt Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Qt Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using the Qt framework. Your primary focus will be on creating intuitive user interfaces and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of usability, performance, and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Qt-based applications for various platforms (e.g., desktop, embedded).
• Develop responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure smooth operation of applications.
• Stay updated with Qt framework advancements and incorporate new features as appropriate.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficiency in C++ programming language.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cross-platform development (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Understanding of network programming and protocols.
• Proven experience in Qt development, including Qt Widgets, QML, and Qt Quick
