Job Responsibilities:
Product Design and Development
* Recognized subject matter expert for one or more technical areas. See Technical Competencies section.
* Lead the architect, design and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains and market segments that meets the customer, regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to integrate electrical & electronic systems into overall product architecture and support product transition to manufacturing.
* With the relevant technical competencies, convert concepts into design requirements, integrate digital or analog design, develop schematic and review fabrication drawing, conduct design simulations / reliability analysis and drive PCB layout design.
* Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate design concepts and iterate as necessary.
* Support technical proposal, planning and cost estimation that will aid in the initial quoting process.

* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, regulations and best practices to contribute to the advancement of design best practices, procedures, quality, efficiency or the acquisitions of new capabilities.

Design for Manufacturing & Quality Assurance
* Products that are not manufacturable will not benefit our customer and more importantly the end user. This role requires to collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure seamless production and timely delivery, identify and evaluate materials and manufacturing processes that align with product requirements and contribute to cost effective solutions.
* Proficient in product development life cycle process and compliance to product quality standard.

* Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project. Able to create a project/change management plan and ensure the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget. Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans.

Technical Competencies:
Electrical & Electronic: Schematic & PCB CAD Design (OrCAD, Cadence Concept/Allegro, Altium Designer); Digital Design (Microprocessor, FPGA, DSP); Analog Design (Power Supply, Signal Conditioning, RF/Wireless, Power Electronic); System Architecture; Derating; Design for EMC/EMI; IEC 60601 (medical device safety); High Speed Signal/Power Integrity; PID Control System (bonus).
Signal Conditioning:
* Able to specify sensors based on application needs(e.g. temperature, humidity, pressure)
* Able to specify, design and test ADC/DAC circuits
* Able to specify, design and test front end filtering circuits (passive/active: low pass, high pass, band pass, band stop)
* Good understanding of noise and error sources within an analog front end
Power Architecture Development:
* Able to develop power architectures that are efficient, cost-effective and thermally optimized
* Able to develop power budgets
* Able to determine thermal dissipation metrics and assess if thermal management solutions are needed
Power Electronics Design:
* Able to specify, design and test POL regulator circuits (LDO, DC-DC) as well as power management circuits (Hot-Swap, Battery Charging Systems, Power OR-ing etc.)
* Strong understanding of RLCD operation and first principles.
* AC-DC Power Supply Design experience (bonus)
RF/Antenna design (bonus) :
* Understands and able to implement Impedance Matching
* Wireless Module/Chipset selection, design and testing (Wi-Fi, BT, Cellular, GNSS)
