Your Impact

As our Backend Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of building the technological foundation that powers real-time brain signal processing and intelligent AI-driven wellness experiences. You'll create systems that seamlessly integrate neurotechnology with conversational AI to deliver personalized, context-aware wellness solutions that have the potential to improve millions of lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services that power our AI-driven neurotechnology platform
• Implement and optimize real-time voice pipelines—including low-latency TTS for responsive AI interactions
• Train and fine-tune AI models for high-fidelity speech synthesis and natural voice interactions
• Develop and deploy machine learning models for intelligent response generation
• Build and integrate conversational AI systems (LLMs) that respond dynamically to neurological and behavioral data
• Process and analyze multimodal data streams from EEG devices, user interactions, and conversational interfaces
• Create scalable cloud infrastructure to handle real-time biometric data processing and AI inference at scale
• Develop APIs and microservices that seamlessly connect brain signal analysis with intelligent conversational systems
• Collaborate closely with product, mobile, and frontend engineers to deliver integrated AI-powered wellness experiences
• Deploy, monitor, and scale services while maintaining the highest standards for health data security and privacy

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development in production environments with demonstrated scalability expertise
• 3+ years of Python with strong proficiency in data processing, machine learning, and AI frameworks
• Demonstrated success with real-time voice processing and low-latency audio pipeline development
• Proven experience training or fine-tuning speech synthesis models with measurable quality improvements
• Experience with LLMs and conversational AI systems - including model integration, optimization, or intelligent response generation
• 2+ years on at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with hands-on deployment experience
• Strong foundation in distributed systems architecture and microservices design
• Ability to thrive in a rapid, startup-style workflow while maintaining high code quality standards
• Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end and work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Frontend skills with React (TypeScript) or iOS (SwiftUI)
• Proficiency in C++ for performance-critical audio and signal processing components
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design patterns and software architecture principles
• Academic or practical background in neuroscience or computational neuroscience
• Experience integrating BLE devices and IoT hardware systems
• Hands-on experience processing biometric signals (particularly EEG) and biosensor data
• Experience with natural language processing and advanced conversational AI frameworks
• Knowledge of audio processing techniques and digital signal processing for voice applications
• Experience with real-time data streaming platforms and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with AI model optimization for production environments and edge deployment
• Understanding of health data privacy regulations and responsible AI development practices
