About the Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to act as the founding Quality Owner for our core RPA product, Robotiive. This role moves beyond traditional testing. You will define and build our quality assurance practice from the ground up, taking full ownership of the defect lifecycle and ensuring our software consistently meets high standards in a fast-moving, agile environment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is genuinely interested in the product. We need someone who proactively explores the product to uncover complex edge cases, confidently navigates ambiguous situations without explicit direction, and collaborates closely with the Development and Product teams. You will come in as our first dedicated QA, and the foundation you build will scale with us. What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and execute flexible, comprehensive test plans aligned with Sprint cycles, prioritizing critical paths and high-risk areas over rigid, linear checklists to ensure both timely delivery and high stability.
• Manage the entire defect lifecycle autonomously, efficiently reproducing complex issues, validating fixes, and leading prioritization discussions with development and product team members.
• Develop deep mastery of the product's architecture and diverse user scenarios to inform smarter, more targeted testing strategies.
• Conduct rigorous exploratory testing to identify system-level and integration issues that standard automated scripts may overlook.
• Engage early in the development process, collaborating with the Product Manager and engineering teams to clarify ambiguous specifications and surface quality risks before coding begins, maintaining a culture of fearless inquiry at every stage.
• Continually improve testing processes, documentation, and standards.
• Deliver concise quality reports to leadership that go beyond task completion, providing key insights on system stability, coverage gaps, and release risks.
• Take ownership of bug tracking management.

What We Look For

• 5+ years of experience focused on product-level integration testing and in-depth software troubleshooting.
• Must be adept at working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; able to embrace ambiguity, define success metrics, and drive initiatives autonomously with evolving requirements.
• Strong background in automated testing tools (e.g., Pytest, Playwright, Selenium).
• Curiosity and commitment to manual exploratory testing, with a genuine drive to "break" the software.
• Proactive and assertive communication style, with willingness to voice blockers and engage in constructive dialogue to uphold quality standards.
• Good English proficiency for internal documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

Valued (Nice-to-Have) Experience:

• Experience building QA processes from scratch as the first or sole QA engineer.
• Background in mentoring or coaching junior QA team members.
• Prior QA lead or team lead experience, managing a small QA team or running a QA function independently.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline technologies (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with performance testing, including analysis of system metrics such as CPU and memory.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing workflows or test automation augmented by AI tools.
