Objectives of this role:

KKBOX, a leading music streaming platform in Asia, is seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in search engine development and optimization, particularly skilled in OpenSearch (or Elasticsearch) and familiar with AWS services. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining the company’s search system to ensure efficient, accurate, and stable search experiences. The ideal candidate should continually optimize search performance and enhance user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services for the music streaming platform, with a focus on the search functionality.
• Optimize and enhance ElasticSearch to improve music search performance, accuracy, and user experience.
• Optimize search engine indexing, query performance to deliver accurate and fast search results.
• Participate in maintaining and operating the platform, ensuring availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate new features and improve system architecture and operation efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backend services, ensuring smooth operation of music streaming services.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in search engine development, particularly with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Go).
• Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
• Hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform.
• Experience with API development, microservices architecture, and RESTful services.
• Good skills and experience in communication and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with other search technologies (e.g., Solr)
• Experience in handling large-scale data systems.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes and Docker).
