The Role

You will be leading development on a React Native mobile app for iOS and Android. This white labeled mobile app is used by clients of our business customers to book appointments, buy products and services, and interact with the business. The app template is already built , but each time we get a new customer, we need to customize the white labeled mobile app and deploy it to their app stores. We also strive to innovate with new features and functionality, better designs, and deep analytics to understand usage behavior and conversions .  

We have created a cohesive, collaborative team environment that works hard to deliver on our innovation roadmap and meet pressing customer commitments. We are looking for individuals who want to both learn and mentor others. While we work independently, we support each other through frequent code and design reviews, daily stand-ups, and pair programming which facilitates learning and reducing friction in our nightly release schedule.

You should have prior experience developing high quality React Native apps and be excited about doing it at a fast growing company. You should also know how to have productive technical discussions and be ready to continuously iterate on features based on feedback from our analytics as well as user feedback .

You'll also help in other aspects of building a new company: Designing features, making good product decisions, and building a culture of excellence. While we work independently, we support each other through frequent code and design reviews, daily stand -ups, and pair programming which facilitates learning and reducing friction in our nightly release schedule. We're seeking engineers who are ready to attack deep technical challenges as well as have an impactful role in product and company development!

Responsibilities:

• Develop quality React Native code with proper specs and documentation
• Implement new features with a focus on both design and performance on iOS and Android platforms. 
• Prioritize scalability, speed, and security in both your code and during code reviews.
• Own deployment and releases to the app stores using Bitrise  
• Engage in discussions and reviews of upcoming features, taking ownership of your work while collaborating with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Motivate and educate team members on coding standards and best practices both within the team and as part of the architecture group.

Work Environment

You will work remotely from Taipei, with regular meetups at a coworking space with other Taipei-based engineers to collaborate on projects, share learnings, build a strong culture, and enjoy each other's company. MyTime does not have a Taiwanese legal entity so you will be employed as a full time contractor by our American legal entity. However, the Founder & CEO is often based in Taipei and is excited to work with our Taiwan-based team in-person a few days each week.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building React Native mobile apps
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization in the frontend
• Detail oriented and conscientious in implementing designs
• Self motivator with strong communication skills
• Degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, but not required

Short phone screen with MyTime's Taiwan-based Founder followed by technical interviews with coding challenges to be conducted in React Native.
