Group & Job Description/Profile

The system Test team is part of the Database Server Technologies division. It is responsible for performing multi-tier stress, destructive, and performance tests using various testing tools, to emulate real-world enterprise DB usage scenarios. These simulations are conducted in a lab environment consisting of tens/hundreds of servers, to mimic end-to-end high-stress scenarios, involving large and complex DB configurations.

As a member of the team, we will give you proper training, so you get the chance to explore the latest Oracle DB features and technologies. You will gain first-hand experience in a few very large/complex DB configurations, both for on-premises and Oracle Cloud service. You will be responsible for designing cases and writing shell or Python codes and to automate the tests. Position Summary

1. Responsible for testing ODA (Oracle Database Appliance) to make it easy to deploy, operate, and manage.
2. ODA is a pre-built and ready-to-use clustered database system. It is a highly available, high-performance database platform that incorporates time-tested Oracle technologies and new ease-of-use features to provide greater value to the organization.
3. This is a golden opportunity to learn Oracle advanced technologies in one of the BEST teams in System Testing.

Key Objective

1. Log and track product defects as encountered.
2. Create, implement, and maintain test plans and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned areas to ensure product quality by exposing defects, identifying regressions, and verifying resolutions.
3. Enhance the test tools / infrastructure, and aim for an automated testing framework with flexibility and simplicity.
4. Ensure Oracle Real Application Cluster functions well with specific configurations, including various workloads, network, storage, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and servers
5. Ensure quality of appliance kit, including graphical configurator, deployment tool, storage management tool, and validation tool to provide automated maintenance capabilities, and higher availability to our customers.
6. Ensure quality of new ease-of-use features to provide proactive, predictive, and lower risks to our customers.
7. Ensure quality of post-release patching by understanding new features/enhancements and verifying various fixes.

Qualifications

Technical

1. Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer or Engineering or Science majors (Mathematics / Physics / Statistics and more).

2. Good understanding of system architecture and terminology, including hardware, network, OS & database.

3. Must have experience with Linux.

4. Proficiency in Python or Shell or other scripting/programming languages.

5. Experience with Oracle Enterprise features like Grid, RAC, and ASM is a plus.

6. Experience in software testing is a BIG plus.

7. For Senior position (5 or more years of experiences, minimum has the following 2 items)

1. Good knowledge of RDBMS DB Architecture, Configuring & Testing Oracle 12c or above
2. Good analytical and problem-solving skill sets are required.
3. Ability to produce high-quality, detailed, and unambiguous test plans.
4. Oracle DBAs or developers with sound Oracle DB application development cum DBA full life-cycle experiences with large-scale OLTP/Mission critical databases in real-world production/test environment.

Interpersonal

1. Good problem-solving skills, always curious and willing to learn are the most important.

2. Self-motivated, responsible, quick learner, team player, and attention to detail.

3. Ability to multitask, have a positive attitude, and deliver under pressure.

4. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
