About the role
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of
our mission-critical trading system databases. You will lead the planning and management of our MSSQL infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

What you'll do

• High Availability Strategy: Plan, deploy, and maintain robust High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, specializing in MSSQL AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Failover Clustering.

• Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through query optimization, index management, execution plan analysis, and wait statistics monitoring.

• Operational Excellence: Manage daily database operations including backups, restoration drills, security patching, version upgrades, and health monitoring.

• Architecture & Support: Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design, code reviews for T-SQL stored procedures, and providing production support for data-related incidents.

What you'll bring 

• Deep MSSQL Expertise: 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in a high transaction production environment.

• HA/DR Mastery: Proven track record of designing and maintaining complex HA environments involving AlwaysOn and clustering.

• Optimization Skills: Expert-level ability to tune T-SQL queries and optimize database configurations for maximum throughput and minimal latency.

• Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell and advanced T-SQL scripting to automate routine maintenance tasks and deployments. 

Nice to have

• NoSQL Knowledge: Familiarity with MongoDB for handling unstructured data needs in trading environments.

• Monitoring Tools: Experience with in-house monitoring stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana for database metrics.
