Software Engineering Intern (Associate), Full Stack .NET Technology

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Software Engineering Intern (Associate) interested in full-stack development on the .NET platform. This role is designed for individuals who have a strong desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful healthcare technology projects. The selected intern will join a team of skilled engineers and medical professionals, engaging in development and deployment activities to build a high-impact medical imaging application.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete the Codecademy C# course as part of your onboarding to gain the essential skills for working on .NET projects.

- Collaborate closely with team members across engineering and medical functions to develop user-centric features and functionality.
- Assist in building and deploying front-end and back-end components of the medical imaging application, leveraging .NET technologies.
- Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and code reviews, gaining insights and providing feedback.
- Document work and provide regular updates to the Engineering Team Lead and other stakeholders.

** Qualification:**

- Educational Qualification: At least a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in university is required.

- Language Proficiency: Strong English competency with the ability to understand technical documentation, follow training materials, and communicate effectively within a diverse team.

- Learning-Oriented: Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning and development, with a proactive approach to acquiring new technical skills.

- Collaborative Mindset: Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and is keen to support and help fellow team members.

- Programming Passion: Displays a genuine interest in programming languages and software development practices.

- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with C# or .NET is a plus but not required. All candidates must complete the C# course on Codecademy before onboarding to establish foundational C# knowledge.

**Working Visa:**

Candidates must be permanent residents or citizens of Taiwan. This position is not open to candidates requiring a working visa in Taiwan.

Interview process

Stage 1 - Initial Call

• Conduct an initial phone call: This initial conversation assesses the candidate’s communication skills and motivation
  

Stage 2 - Technical Assessment

• Conduct a take-home assignment, and evaluate candidates' technical skills by relevant coding tests. The test will be based on an open-source project, and candidates have to create unit tests to demonstrate their ability to write code using best practices such as null safety, error handling, documentation, and coding standards.

Stage 3 - Technical Interviews

• Fundamental Skill: based on the take-home assignment, conduct code review sessions focusing on principles, system design, and areas relevant to the company’s tech stack. Include problem-solving sessions and coding exercises.

• Leadership and Design Skills: For senior positions, include discussions around system design, architecture, and leadership experiences. Assess their ability to mentor others, lead projects, and make high-level design decisions.

Stage 4 - Behavioral Interview

• Soft Skills: problem-solving abilities, and how the candidate has handled past challenges on teamwork, conflict, and project management.

• Team Fit and Culture Fit: Include interviews or informal chats with potential team members to assess cultural and team fit. This helps ensure the candidate can work well within the team and aligns with the company’s values.

Stage 5 - Reference Checks

• Conduct Reference Checks: Speak with former managers to verify the candidate’s experiences, strengths, and areas for improvement.
