Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks modeling according to professional standards.
Prepare engineering documents, including specifications, DFx, and technical reports.
Verify mechanical designs and drawings, resolving technical issues.
Provide engineering solutions and take the initiative to lead and plan problem-solving activities.
Create and maintain engineering documents required for project planning and product development gate approval reviews.
Review mechanical designs and assess the manufacturability of new designs.
Independently analyze and verify mechanical designs, solving technical problems using scientific methods such as mathematics, physics, prototyping, tolerance analysis, CAE, FEM, simulations, and DOE.
Control product BOM costs and manage design schedules from a mechanical engineering perspective.
Prepare mechanical engineering documents such as BOMs, component specifications, and technical reports, and support FMEA activities.
Design fixtures and calibration processes for high-precision mechanical assemblies.
Verify and qualify components produced by suppliers and participate in pilot production.
Support product compliance certification activities.
Demonstrate independence, responsibility, and self-initiative.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering; or a related field in product development is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing plastic and sheet metal products using SolidWorks.
Proven ability to design plastic housings for products such as smartphones and tablets.
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and mechanical production processes.
Proficiency in using Mechanical CAD software, with SolidWorks being our primary tool.
Expertise in creating detailed 2D drawings and conducting tolerance calculations.
Knowledge of mold design, First Article Inspection (FAI), and process capability index (CPK).
Experience in managing vendors and factories.
Strong command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
Willingness to travel internationally about 10% of your working hours
