What You'll Do

Lead and mentor a growing team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of excellence
Architect and oversee development of high-throughput API systems for interactive gaming products
Drive technical decisions and ensure architectural coherence across the platform
Implement performance tracking systems and optimization strategies
Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation
Collaborate closely with European stakeholders in daily English meetings
Identify talent needs and participate in recruitment and team development

Tech Stack

NodeJS with TypeScript as the primary development framework
PostgreSQL/MySQL for relational database management
Redis for high-performance caching
DynamoDB/MongoDB for NoSQL data storage
RabbitMQ for message queuing
Git for version control
Basic frontend technologies for admin interface development

Requirements

Technical Requirements

Moderate to strong NodeJS experience
Expertise in designing high-availability systems
Experience with high-throughput API development
Cost-conscious architecture planning
Experience with performance tracking and optimization
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and practices

Leadership Requirements

Proven success managing engineering teams (preferably in startups and established companies)
Outstanding English communication skills for daily collaboration with international team
Strong performance management capabilities - ability to track, identify and improve team performance
Excellent documentation and organizational skills
Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Gaming industry knowledge
Experience with serverless ecosystem
Deep database expertise
Previous experience in international work environments
