Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Golang Engineer to join our client's elite engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and scaling their core banking infrastructure. You will be part of a lean, high-impact team building scalable applications that span from frontend UI to backend infrastructure for ventures adjacent to their core business.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of a modern digital banking platform, working on everything from payment networks and account management to transaction processing systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure banking systems meet regulatory requirements, security standards, and deliver seamless customer experiences.
Technical Environment & Projects
You'll be working with cutting-edge technology including:
- Primary Language: Golang for high-performance backend services
- Architecture: Microservices architecture with cloud-native applications
- APIs: RESTful APIs following Open API specifications
- Cloud Infrastructure: AWS/GCP/Azure with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Financial Systems: Payment networks, treasury management, FX exchange, and crediting systems
- Compliance Systems: KYC/AML infrastructure and regulatory reporting
Key Projects Include:
- Architecting core banking platform components using Golang
- Establishing robust payment processing infrastructure
- Implementing secure banking APIs and integration points
- Developing data reporting flows for regulatory compliance
- Creating financial treasury processes and FX capabilities
- Building scalable account management systems

Requirements
Required:
- 5+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years in financial technology
- 2+ years of banking industry experience
- Strong proficiency in Golang with demonstrated expertise
- Experience building and scaling banking or financial services platforms
- Deep understanding of banking operations, payment networks, and financial systems
- Knowledge of data security practices specific to financial institutions
- Experience with treasury management systems, FX exchange, and crediting systems
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and Open API specifications
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native applications
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with global bank auditors and regulatory compliance teams
- Knowledge of banking core SaaS systems (ThoughtMachine, Audax, Temenos)
- Experience with System Integrators on large-scale financial projects
- Understanding of banking standards (ISO 20022, PSD2)
- Experience with real-time payment systems and card processing networks
- Knowledge of blockchain or distributed ledger technologies
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms and containerization
