DevOps Engineer - TypeScript

OSP Taipei operates on a hybrid work model and does not have options for fully remote work.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team, working on a cutting-edge stock management system. This role encompasses both backend engineering and DevOps responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Development:

•  Develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases, ensuring efficient and optimized queries and data management.

2. DevOps:

• Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing resources such as VPC, networking, CloudRun, storage, and databases.
• Use Cloud Development Kit for Terraform (CDKTF) to manage infrastructure as code.
• Create and manage Docker containers for application deployment on CloudRun.

3. System Integration:

• Integrate with Kafka for efficient data streaming and processing.
• Collaborate using GitHub for version control and code reviews.

4. Project Management:

• Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Use Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation.

Basic qualification

• Proficient in TypeScript with hands-on experience in backend development.
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Great team-player in an international agile working environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of GCP including VPC, networking, CloudRun, storage and databases.
• Experience with Terraform and Cloud Development Kit for Terraform (CDKTF).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience in developing backend systems using it.
• Proficient in Docker for containerization and deployment.
• Familiarity with Kafka for data streaming.
• Experience with GitHub for source code management. 
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence for Agile project management.
• Previous experience working in a similar role within a stock management or logistics environment.
• Additional certifications related to GCP, Terraform, or TypeScript

The position involves three interviews, each covering Behavioral, Cultural Fit, and Technical aspects. The first and second interview will primarily be conducted in Chinese, with some English included. The third interviews will be conducted entirely in English. Please ensure you are comfortable communicating in both languages.
