My name is Edan Yeh, and I am from Taoyuan, Taiwan. I graduated from Takming University of Science and Technology with a degree in Information Technology. During my time at university, I was actively involved in IT-related activities both on and off campus. I also took the initiative to learn about computer repair and assembly on my own, which fostered a deep interest in information technology and provided me with a solid foundation in the field.
From a young age, I have been passionate about extreme sports and have challenged myself in various activities such as surfing, skydiving, and rock climbing. These experiences have taught me to be proactive, independent, and well-prepared, as well as unafraid of challenges. They have also helped me develop the ability to calmly analyze and solve problems in unfamiliar and dangerous environments. These skills have been invaluable in my professional projects, enabling me to approach challenges with confidence and plan effectively. During university, I also participated in activities such as the basketball team, guitar club, and street dance club, which enhanced my understanding of interpersonal communication and coordination. These experiences have significantly benefited my ability to communicate and allocate resources in project management.
In my third year of university, I decided to enter the workforce as a developer. My decision was driven by two factors: first, I recognized the significant gap between academia and industry and wanted to address it early; second, I needed a more substantial income to support myself. Initially, I was responsible for maintaining web systems, programming, and managing business processes. I also participated in system development projects for several banks and government agencies. I had the opportunity to attend a one-month technology training program in Shanghai, Pudong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, where I witnessed the rapid development of IT and AI applications in China.
After graduation, I worked as an engineer at Herxun Co., Ltd., where I was responsible for upgrading Yuanta Bank's new image platform, supporting CTBC Bank's monitoring system, and providing assistance for Mega Bank's collection system. Eventually, I transitioned to Yuanta Bank, where I took on the role of project lead for the new image platform.
Currently, I am employed at AIA Taiwan in the Information Department, where I lead projects and optimize customer requirements. My responsibilities include system maintenance, customer discussions, documentation, performance tuning, attending meetings, and real-time issue resolution.
Over the past five years, these experiences have gradually helped me define my career path. I aim to not only maintain my programming skills but also to refine my abilities in system analysis, requirement interviews, and project management. I seek to gain more experience in these areas and broaden my knowledge in various domains. Outside of work, I am passionate about learning new tools and technologies, especially those related to mainstream frameworks. If time permits, I work on side projects to practice and refine my skills, and I actively participate in industry-related courses and seminars. Currently, I am studying for the PMP certification to improve my project management skills.
Continuous learning and growth have been the cornerstone of my development approach. I do not let circumstances or a busy schedule hinder my progress. In the next five years, I plan to strengthen my foundational skills, accumulate more project experience, expand my domain knowledge, and solidify my direction for the next decade. Ultimately, I aspire to become a solid mid-level leader, transitioning from development and system analysis to project management roles.
