Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Eleanora “Nora” Kurban is a student at Anne Arundel Community College working toward a degree in nursing. She spent 2 years as a nursing assistant with Response Senior Care in Annapolis during the pandemic. Eleanora Kurban’s responsibilities included dressing patients and providing assistance with tasks of daily living. Able to handle emergency situations, she holds both first aid and CPR certifications and has supported nurse practitioners.
Nora Kurban gained inspiration for her career choice in health care from her mother, who practices as a physician in Minsk, Belarus. She has a passion for helping people manage critical care situations that are serious and potentially life-threatening.
Prior to pursuing education in nursing, she earned a history degree at the Belarusian State University’s Lyceum. She continued with that institution at the Faculty of International Relations, where she earned an associate’s degree in international affairs and linguistics, with an emphasis in Turkish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her miniature schnauzers and getting outdoors to hike and cycle.
