- Demand Categorization and Forecasting in Semiconductor Components Supply Chain - Semiconductor distributor need to make specific demand forecasting by item as critical input of inventory control and ordering strategy. Accurate demand forecast needs strict supply chain information and market analysis. However, most companies in semiconductor supply chain are not equipped with demand information sharing system between upstream and downstream. In this project, thousands of product parts are classified and forecast by competent staff based on their domain knowledge and working experience. To fill in this gap, we aims to propose a demand categorization and forecasting approach to support flexible decisions in supply chain management.
- Optimizing Manufacturing Parameters of Wire Bonding Process in IC Packaging Industry - In the wire bonding process, different setting value of manufacturing parameters affect the quality of the solder joints and the speed of wire bonding significantly. And when a new product is introduced, it is difficult to quickly obtain effective parameters simply by relying on the experience of the engineers. The project aims to help the IC packaging factories to increase production capacity by reducing the number of downtimes and speeding up the wire bonding time. The empirical result shows that the proposed approach has shown practical viability for increasing the packaging yield by 0.03%.
- Probe Card Electrical Quality Enhancement in Advanced Semiconductor Test Industry - In order to ensure the electrical quality of the probe card transmission path, in this project, we develops an automated inspection system which is able to reduce the error and time consuming from manual operation. Measurement System Analysis (MSA) ensures the electrical measurement quality of the equipment and meanwhile, collects and transfers those measurement results to be a big database from comprehensive electrical detection for key materials.
