With a varied background encompassing telecommunications, teaching, and history, Jason Wilton Wetzel was born in Australia during World War II but moved to the United States and became a naturalized citizen when he was a freshman in high school. He spent 30 years as an account sales executive for AT&T, focusing on telephone and yellow page sales, before transitioning his career to education and history. Jason Wilton Wetzel taught at a high school in Maryland, where he also coached and served as director of character education for the Georgia Department of Education.
In 2002, Jason Wetzel served as director of education at the National Museum of Patriotism. He became a United States Army field historian at Fort McPherson, Georgia, before wrapping up his career at Fort Bragg, where he acted as deputy director and executive officer for the Office of Army Reserve History. He holds a B.S. in history and an M.A. in education and belongs to the Sons of the American Revolution.
