Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 8 years of experience with software development in languages like Java, C/C++, Python, or Go. Experience with architecting and developing software for distributed systems and large-scale cloud products. Preferred qualifications: Experience in software architecture with designing and building large-scale distributed systems. Rather than focusing on delivering specific products, the center aims to cultivate core competencies that enable Delta groups to efficiently develop and commercialize robotics-based solutions.Responsibilities:• Design and develop robotic hardware systems, including mechanical structures, actuator modules, and sensor layouts tailored for mobile platforms or manipulators.• Lead or support system-level integration efforts, combining hardware, embedded systems, AI modules, and control software into fully functional robot prototypes.• Develop experimental platforms for testing manipulation, mobility, and physical interaction in simulated and physical environments.• Collaborate closely with teams working on AI perception, motion planning, and learning-based control to ensure end-to-end functionality and safety.• Conduct iterative hardware/software co-design to enable agile adaptation and modular upgrades based on research or deployment needs.• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and reliability enhancements through design iteration and real-world feedback.• Stay informed on the latest robotics mechanisms, actuation technologies, compliant design, and modular system trends.
