As a Senior Backend Engineer on the RD Team in our Taiwan office, you’ll play a vital role in designing and maintaining the robust systems that power our backend systems. You’ll build scalable data pipelines and backend services that process billions of daily requests, directly impacting how millions discover content worldwide. To thrive in this role, you’ll need: 5+ years coding experience in Java or similar OOP languagesExpertise with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Vertica, Cassandra, Google BigQuery..)Experience with distributed systems (Spring, Maven, Kafka, Apache Spark, Hadoop..)Deep understanding of core data structures, common algorithms and algorithmic complexity (Big O notation).Proven track record building and managing data pipelinesProficiency with version control systems such as Git, CVS, or Subversion Bonus points if you have: Experience with Kubernetes and containerizationKnowledge of workflow automation (Airflow) How you’ll make an impact:As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll bring value by: Designing and developing high-performance backend services and improve Taboola’s recommendation Ad Quality infrastructure.
