As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. Manage the delivery of large-scale network infrastructure projects long-haul dark fiber, metro fiber, leased capacity/circuits, and inside plant fiber from inception through delivery. Ensure facilities are delivered on schedule and meet technical specifications. Serve as primary North America or South America vendor contact for these activities. Escalate up vendor management chains as necessary if delivery time lines are at risk. Lead kickoff and regular project status meetings while keeping downstream teams at Google aware of project and delivery status. Oversee the program to handle all vendor handover documentation,(e.g., letter of authority, customer facility assignment), design layout record, completion notification, test results and technical drawings while working with vendors and Google staff to coordinate and facilitate excellent record-keeping and communication. Preferred qualifications: Certified RCDD, PMP, or similar industry certifications. 10 years of project or construction management experience with network infrastructure (i.e., fiber optic cabling, cable tray, racks, etc.). Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget. Experience working in data centers or similar mission critical environments where work involves impact to core functionalities and is governed with formal change control processes. Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast track design build processes and associated documents and contracts.
