Global Wafers has an opening for a Research Scientist responsible for building AI models for complex physics driven processes. She/he will own AI modelling efforts in one or more areas like silicon defect dynamics, crystal growth, slicing/polishing processes, wafer thermal processes etc. Role may involve some minimal travel to sites and international collaborations and interactions across multiple Global Wafers manufacturing sites. This is an extraordinary opportunity to work in an outstanding company like AMD - Join us!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage the flawless test and process execution by introducing new products and their ramp to volume production in manufacturing partners. - Lead sustaining yield activities which include driving product performance and margin improvement by working closely with our operations and development teams. - Manage product yield dedication, engineering activities during the product development stage including design validation, performance, characterization, qualification, and release to production. - Lead multi-functional teams and maintain committed schedules on multiple projects while collaborating with other engineering functions different levels of management. - Work with the Manufacturing, Design, Quality, and Failure Analysis teams in the disposition of product excursions and manage cases through a material review board.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Familiar with semiconductor process, yield analysis and product characterization. - Fluent English is required. Good communicator in verbal and writing English. - Knowledgeable in statistical methods and tools (JMP) for data analysis. - Years of experience on data analysis and yield improvement. - Experience with product testing on Advantest V93000 will be a plus.ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent field with preferred relevant years of experience.
