The Delta Robotics Innovation Center (DRIC) is established to support Delta Electronics' long-term robotics development. Its primary purpose is to build and enhance Delta's capabilities in robot design, manufacturing, and integration. Rather than focusing on delivering specific products, the center aims to cultivate core competencies that enable Delta groups to efficiently develop and commercialize robotics-based solutions. Responsibilities: • Design and implement novel AI algorithms and foundation models for general-purpose robots and embodied agents. • Develop and optimize training and inference pipelines for large-scale vision-language and multimodal models. • Fine-tune models for robot-specific tasks such as motion planning and manipulation, including reinforcement learning (RL) techniques. • Collaborate with simulation teams to validate models in physical simulators and integrate them into robot planning and control systems. • Build and maintain scalable GPU-based distributed training infrastructure and efficient data pipelines for model development.

Responsibilities: • Design and develop modular, extensible, and software-defined architectures for robotic systems across the full stack (from low-level control to high-level behavior). • Define and implement system-level interfaces, communication protocols, and data pipelines between modules such as perception, planning, control, and actuation. • Work closely with AI and robotics team members to embed models into the runtime system architecture with real-time performance requirements. • Manage and evolve the robot middleware stack, including ROS/ROS2-based services, messaging layers, and configuration management. • Support lifecycle management, diagnostics, and introspection tools to monitor system health and behavior during long-term operation. • Ensure systems are built with safety, performance, and scalability in mind to support both single-robot and multi-robot deployments. • Build tools and systems to measure, monitor, and improve data and model quality, across both live and offline environments. • Support full-stack development across robot-side software, cloud services, and internal user interfaces as needed.
