Our motivation is to help all gamers have the best in-game experience by focusing on user needs: big and small, young and less young, for all genders, because playing is such an important part of life.As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer,  you are responsible for;Driving new product development innovation activities.  Identifying and exploring new product concepts/features/user experiences for the controller gaming categoryPlaying a leading role in a cross-functional team to design and develop these from product front end to successful mass production in the far eastAs a key member of the Logitech gaming team, the candidate is responsible for combining engineering expertise, testing and a relentless pursuit of creating the best products and experiences that are sold around the world. The ability to do 3D molding and apply scientific approaches analysis tools to create robust mechanical designs for volume mass production is required. In this role you will:As a key member of the Gaming ME team, you will be responsible for ideating, exploring  prototyping mechanical electromechanical solution concepts that transform user experiences. Along with delivering mechanical product designs for gaming products, from the Product Front End through product development and into successful mass production.You will also contribute to innovation and technology programs to enable gaming product evolution.Development of user centric gaming products (PC Console Controllers) and participate in the development of User Experience (UX) research to develop customer focussed products.Develop product architectures and new technology conceptsWork with Industrial Designers, and product development teams to define and develop products from concept to Mass ProductionLead support innovation activities in the gaming controller product category and continuous improvement/advancement of Engineering capabilitiesBuild mechanical/electro-mechanical proof of concepts to evaluate UX, function, manufacturability, and/or robustnessEnsure high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as dFMEA, QFD and FEA simulation.Analyse data generated from pilot builds and lab experimentsPerform tolerance analyses to verify performance of mechanisms and cosmetic specifications in the presence of high volume dimensional variationDetailed 3D design and 2D documentation of all parts and assembliesInteracting with vendors as well as internal Manufacturing, Supply Chain, NPI and Supplier Quality Engineering groups to develop manufacturing processes toolingDefine reliability testing requirements and equipmentStrong knowledge and experience in rapid prototyping, functional lab testing of concepts and analysis of test data.Optimise designs for performance, quality and cost.Key Qualifications:Education:Bachelors  Degree in Mechanical/mechatronics/Electro - Mechanical Engineering (or similar)For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:5 years experience in mechanical design/development of high volume consumer electronic productsDetailed knowledge of plastics injection moulding and tooling, assembly process, cosmetic finishes defect analysis (hard plastic, soft plastic, metal process/post treatment)Fluent in Design/Development process and tools of high volume manufacturingFluent in Pro/Engineer or similar 3D CAD package including Advanced SurfacingStrong knowledge in ANSYS simulation softwareHighly skilled in problem solving risk management‘Design Thinking’ mindsetStrong Communication skills with experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.Experience of stakeholder managementProven ability of speaking up and taking ownershipSelf-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team Strong Presentation skillsExperience in working with and prototyping electro-mechanical solutions is a strong advantageGood command of English -  writing and speakingIn addition, preferable skills and behaviours include...Communication skills in both Mandarin EnglishKeen interest in latest tech and gaming trendsA passion for the gaming controller genre ( PC Console)#LI-AL2/104Across Logitech we empower collaboration and foster play.
