As a Cost Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing insight and driving down the costs of parts and complex modules by simulating production processes. You will also provide early definition of manufacturing process flows and product cost calculations during the design phase in collaboration with the development and sourcing competences.Requirements• Master degree in an mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent experience.• Experience with advance manufacturing processes like CNC Milling, CNC Turning, (Laser, E-Beam) welding, additive (3D printing) manufacturing, precision mechanics vacuum, manufacturing automation / robotization, industrial 4.0 (operation data analyses).• Knowledge of manufacturability of raw material manufacturing like stainless steel, titanium, casting, extrusion, high end plastics, vendor components market pricing and availability etc.• Experience in reporting cost driver views, opportunities and risks.• Understand both supplier, supply chain manufacturing capabilities and preferable their financial value streams.• Experience in working in design teams, supplier account teams and with supplier collaboration.• Direct manufacturing engineering experience in operations.Responsibilities• Serve as the go to expert for mechanical manufacturing and product costing.• Drive down Cost of Goods (Parts modules) by influencing design on manufacturability costs.• Early defining of Manufacturing Process Flows for manufacturability Product Cost calculations during design.• Provide adequate transparency in Product Costing for both Technical costs and Business uplifts.• Create more value and cost down opportunities through deepen assessments of Factory Standard Costs and simulate Supplier Supply Chain Costs.• Collaborate with : Development Engineering competences, Sourcing and Supply Chain Engineering.Personal skills• Determine manufacturing strategies through the manufacturing flow and steps and create product costing of designs for high end precision parts and complex modules based on optimum serial and volume manufacturing effects.• Drive faster learning curve effects and cost down.• Has excellent: analytical and simulation skills for product costs and supplier Factory Standard Cost scenario’s.• Professional communication and convincing skills. The role includes troubleshooting mechanical issues, supporting maintenance activities, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.Job ResponsibilitiesTo develop and establish maintenance plans, including resources, system, strategy, and timeline.Establish and maintain records for Preventive Maintenance programmes.To execute and monitor project plans according to the timeline.Supervise and guide the maintenance team in their day-to-day activities.To ensure the maintenance team acquires technical skills so that maintenance jobs are carried out according to the best practice standard.To oversee attend to daily machine breakdowns and take necessary actions when required.Other duties assigned from time to time.
