As a Cost Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing insight and driving down the costs of parts and complex modules by simulating production processes. You will also provide early definition of manufacturing process flows and product cost calculations during the design phase in collaboration with the development and sourcing competences.Requirements• Master degree in an mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent experience.• Experience with advance manufacturing processes like CNC Milling, CNC Turning, (Laser, E-Beam) welding, additive (3D printing) manufacturing, precision mechanics vacuum, manufacturing automation / robotization, industrial 4.0 (operation data analyses).• Knowledge of manufacturability of raw material manufacturing like stainless steel, titanium, casting, extrusion, high end plastics, vendor components market pricing and availability etc.• Experience in reporting cost driver views, opportunities and risks.• Understand both supplier, supply chain manufacturing capabilities and preferable their financial value streams.• Experience in working in design teams, supplier account teams and with supplier collaboration.• Direct manufacturing engineering experience in operations.Responsibilities• Serve as the go to expert for mechanical manufacturing and product costing.• Drive down Cost of Goods (Parts modules) by influencing design on manufacturability costs.• Early defining of Manufacturing Process Flows for manufacturability Product Cost calculations during design.• Provide adequate transparency in Product Costing for both Technical costs and Business uplifts.• Create more value and cost down opportunities through deepen assessments of Factory Standard Costs and simulate Supplier Supply Chain Costs.• Collaborate with : Development Engineering competences, Sourcing and Supply Chain Engineering.Personal skills• Determine manufacturing strategies through the manufacturing flow and steps and create product costing of designs for high end precision parts and complex modules based on optimum serial and volume manufacturing effects.• Drive faster learning curve effects and cost down.• Has excellent: analytical and simulation skills for product costs and supplier Factory Standard Cost scenario’s.• Professional communication and convincing skills. Introduction to the jobWe are looking for experienced mechanical design engineers who are able to support the manufacturing process of DUV modules in order to meet the output and quality requirements for these DUV modules.The vision is to achieve a more scalable, competitive and closer-to-the customer manufacturing capability in Taiwan.You will work in a team of approximately 50 fte (projected to grow further) of multiple competences. You will work closely together with the manufacturing team (~70 fte), and Supplier Quality Engineers (~15 fte). This team is part of the DE Field organization with an overarching mission to increase intimacy with our customer and ASML operations (Customer Support, Repair Re-use, Manufacturing and Strategic Sourcing and Procurement).This position is open to local hires as well as Long Term assignees within ASML.You will spend ~ six months in the Netherlands or Wilton, USA for training purposes in 2026.Roles and responsibilitiesTo build the manufacturing capability at New Taipei Campus we need mechanical engineers who will:Support the DUV module manufacturing organization with high end troubleshooting capability;.Translate operational manufacturing requests into clear specifications in their own domain.In-depth understanding of the technical product documentation using 3D modeling (NX) and BOM structures to be able to solve local issues.
