Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Responsibilities Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of automated performance tests and frameworks that ensure Fuchsia's optimal performance across various products. Analyze trace data and large-scale performance datasets to derive actionable metrics and identify critical improvement opportunities. Lead efforts to transform raw data into clear, impactful insights that drive product performance improvements. Partner with teams across the organization, providing expert guidance on performance analysis, improvement strategies, and benchmark development to ensure their code leverages performance analysis tools effectively. Design, implement, and maintain advanced performance analysis tools for Fuchsia across different architectures and products, leveraging tracing, profiling, and other techniques. In this role, you will communicate with multiple storage vendors and drive JEDEC/T10 standards to choose Universal Flash Storage (UFS) parts every year per Pixel product. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.Responsibilities Analyze and improve Android system performance from the entire Input/Output (IO) stack perspective. Explore new storage technology and lead the storage industry. Control IOs to mitigate performance/power/stability problems on flash storages. Contribute code changes in Android framework, if required to Pixel. Maintain kernel patches across various kernel branches such as mainline, Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Pixel, and System on a Chip (SoC). Write patches for file systems or IO subsystems.
