As a Senior Backend Engineer on the RD Team in our Taiwan office, you’ll play a vital role in designing and maintaining the robust systems that power our backend systems. You’ll build scalable data pipelines and backend services that process billions of daily requests, directly impacting how millions discover content worldwide. The Role At Circle, the AI Team is responsible for: Developing and maintaining internal and customer-facing computer vision services, and building machine learning pipelines to improve and expand our products.As a backend engineer, you will own core backend services that support our computer vision applications, including the design and implementation of our machine learning pipelines. Be ready for novel challenges—issues and concerns you encounter may differ from your previous work experience given the nature of large-scale machine learning and streaming video, e.g. GPU-bound issues and real-time systems that have already processed many billions of frames. What You'll Do You will face streaming, network, computer vision, machine learning, application optimization, and cloud infrastructure issues very often. You will work with researchers, engineers, and designers in Taipei, London, and San Francisco. Communication skills matter. We are moving fast to handle a dramatically increasing number of cameras. Scalability and efficiency are our chief concerns.
