Shock speed measurement using Piezoelectric strain gauges in shock tube

Developed a method to measure shock speed using piezoelectric strain sensors instead of pressure sensors to measure local shock speed in a single- diaphragm shock tube.
Designed and executed experiments with varied setups, selecting the optimal strain gauge type and position with similar initial conditions.
Conducted data analysis and computation of the raw data obtained from DAQ system to choose a specific method to ensure repeatability.
Attempted to find and reduce error with respect to shock speed measured by pressure sensors using a cross-correlation method instead of denoising methods.

High Temperature Gas Dynamics: Analyzed equilibrium chemical compositions of N₂-N mixtures at various temperatures and pressures using equilibrium constants (Kp) from JANNAF tables.
Smart Materials: Proposed a theoretical application of cross-linked hydrogels for transdermal drug delivery, specifically for paracetamol.
Cube-sat Design for Asteroid Exploration: Performed preliminary propulsion subsystem analysis for a Cube-sat mission collecting surface data from asteroid Bennu.
Cold gas Thruster: Designed a thrust measurement system for a Nitrogen cold gas thruster using torque sensors.
CACPL Visit: Gained insights into aerospace product manufacturing, assembly and quality control. Familiarized myself with the theoretical workings of various valves.
