Mrs. Pfeffer studied Criminal Justice for several years before joining the New York State Army National Guard following the terrorist atrocities of September 11th. She spent a year in Iraq after completing her training, earning the Combat Action Badge and several other awards. She returned to school after her time in Iraq and graduated from Hilbert College with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She went on to become a police officer with the Rochester Police Department, where she received the Life Saving Award and the Key to the City for her service to the community. During her term, she was also granted a number of other concessions for other actions. While working as a police officer, Amy continued her studies and received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration. Amy also graduated from Daemen College with a Master of Science in Social Work. While working as a private investigator in the states of New York, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, she was able to accomplish this. She started her first therapy job with Horizon Health Care after graduating from graduate school with a perfect grade point average.
