Anais Amin is an accomplished Los Angeles, California professional whose career spans journalism, marketing, and community service. She holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University, where she honed her storytelling and social advocacy skills, dedicating her efforts to creating meaningful change. Growing up in Los Angeles, Anais completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. While at UCLA, she actively participated in student government, serving as one of 14 council members. This position enabled her to advocate for social justice, improved access to higher education, and enhanced mental health services for veterans. She led a group of 40 volunteers in these endeavors and was responsible for moderating a political debate among candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives. After graduating from UCLA, Anais pursued further education at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, earning her Master of Science in 2020. During her time at Columbia, she specialized in multimedia journalism. She completed a comprehensive master’s thesis, including a 5,000-word exploration of a Syrian refugee family’s resettlement in the U.S., a published article about her family’s flight from genocide, and a video project on medication-assisted recovery. While studying, she also engaged in investigative reporting in the Bronx, covering civil and criminal court cases. Her reporting focused on critical issues such as sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the excessive use of force by private security guards. Anais began her professional journey in radio production, working as a production assistant at Marketplace, a well-known public radio program produced by American Public Media, from January to December 2022. She initially joined Marketplace as an intern from June to December 2021, where she helped book guests, write show rundowns, and edit interviews. Additionally, she worked at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, producing radio segments on various social, political, and scientific topics. Anais is a marketing and brand manager for a fashion manufacturer, overseeing million-dollar accounts and leading leading campaigns. Her previous experience includes a role as an executive assistant in a dental lab and a marketing internship at The Borgen Project, where she contributed to global poverty reduction efforts. Committed to community service, Anais volunteers at animal shelters and a horse ranch for children with special needs. She is also an accomplished oil painter and photographer, integrating her artistic skills with her professional life and advocacy. Anais enjoys exploring the outdoors, visiting museums, and experiencing new cultures. Fluent in Armenian and English, she is also improving her Spanish skills.
