His achievements earned him a basketball scholarship to attend Illinois Central College, where he balanced academics and athletics. Eeten attended Illinois Central College for two years before transferring to Northern Illinois University. There, he pursued a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Spanish. His time in higher education helped him strengthen his teamwork and communication skills while preparing him for professional responsibilities. He applied these skills in his early career as a teacher and coach, guiding students in academics and athletics, helping them improve both in and out of the classroom. Andrew Eeten began his career in education but later decided to explore a new direction. In 2017, he entered retail sales as a store manager at T-Mobile, where he oversaw daily operations, assisted customers with wireless products, and managed store projects. This role allowed him to work in a dynamic environment, improve his management abilities, and build stronger customer service skills that would benefit him in future positions. Andrew advanced his career in 2019 by joining Stanton Optical as a store manager. In this position, he helped customers select eyewear, reviewed prescriptions, measured for proper fit, and educated customers on product care. In December 2023, he became an optician at the Vision Care Center, where he continued providing personalized service and ensuring customers received the right products for their needs. His work in optical retail has allowed him to make a difference in people’s daily lives. Eeten has developed skills in time management, organization, adaptability, and problem-solving.
