Working at "BD Oakes" (the firm) helped reinforce my notable multitasking and people skills. As the receptionist, I greeted clients in a professional manner and engaged in friendly conversation, setting the tone for the lawyer-client interaction to follow. Some of my other numerous duties included answering the phones, opening files and entering disbursements, all the while checking in, tending to and seating clients in the appropriate boardrooms. I worked fast and efficiently to ensure that all of my duties were completed with time to spare, in order to grow my skillset by undertaking further tasks and being of greater assistance to the firm. As the firm merged with Deeley Fabbri Sellen and become DFS Kaneski Unruh in January of 2023, my scope of responsibilities grew to support work for the corporate department.
