Chris Cain Hospice has dedicated nearly 30 years to the fields of long-term care and hospice. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions where he managed hiring, training, team development, patient care quality, financial oversight, marketing, regulatory compliance, and overall business operations. He has helped start several assisted living facilities, hospice agencies, and a hospital.
As CEO, CFO, and Administrator of St. Gabriel’s Hospice & Palliative Care, he established a culture built around “People Caring for People.” He and his team have worked to support patients through symptom management while also focusing on their emotional and spiritual needs. Since 2012, he has grown St. Gabriel’s into a 300-patient hospice agency employing over 200 people across Texas cities, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Houston, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, and Tyler. His role includes overseeing budgets, human resources, recruiting, operations planning, accounting procedures, and sales management.
Earlier in his career, Chris Cain Fort Worth served as Regional Director of Operations at a management company, where he led four Alzheimer’s care communities in North Texas. Under his guidance, the census increased by 14% in the first quarter, net operating income exceeded 90% in most locations, and staffing and expenses were stabilized. As CEO of a Medicare-licensed hospice agency, he reached profit margins in the 20% range, broke even within eight months, expanded to 100 patients, and opened locations in San Antonio and Austin.
Chris Cain, Clear Fork Group, also held positions including Executive Director, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Marketing Representative, and Hospital Administrator. In these positions, he directed hospital openings, developed referral relationships, and led teams across multiple states while meeting operational goals.
Chris Cain Hospice earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from Southern Nazarene University. He and his wife have children and grandchildren. A committed Catholic, he values compassion and dignity in care. Outside of work, he enjoys life on his ranch, where he raises Texas Longhorn cattle and Quarter Horses and participates in hunting, fishing, traveling, and sports.
