Daniel Alves Alger is a professional musician, guitarist, and songwriter who resides in Nashville, Tennessee. He is the co-founder of The Druids, a rock band that has released multiple self-produced albums and continues to grow a dedicated following. Along with his songwriting and performances, Daniel works as a DJ and private music instructor, teaching guitar and bass lessons to students from different countries. His career path also includes practical experience in instrument craftsmanship, security, construction, and retail. Though Daniel Alves Alger was born in Brazil, most of his early life was spent in the Washington, D.C., suburbs. From a young age, he developed a passion for ice hockey, playing competitively throughout his school years. He was a top-line forward for the Blair Ice Hockey team and was part of the group that won a divisional championship in 2014. His involvement in sports helped him build discipline and commitment—traits that would later carry over into his musical journey. Daniel’s interest in music began early. He started out studying piano, which gave him a solid understanding of musical fundamentals. As he grew, his curiosity led him to experiment with other instruments, including the bass guitar and eventually the six-string. During his teenage years, he became active in the DMV music scene, playing in various bands and learning the ins and outs of songwriting and performance through real-world experience. In 2017, Daniel moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend Belmont University. Although he attended for only two semesters, the time he spent there was meaningful. He met a community of musicians, gained exposure to professional guitarists, and developed a deeper understanding of music production and live performance. It was during this time that he began performing regularly and eventually co-founded The Druids, a band with influences rooted in psychedelic and classic rock. As a core member of The Druids, Daniel Alger of Nashville contributes as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He plays a major role in the band’s creative direction, helping shape a sound that blends indie rock, layered psychedelic textures, and narrative songwriting. The band has self-released two albums to date. Daniel has also taken on much of the technical side of production, handling engineering and mixing duties using professional studio equipment. Their music has been shared and sold through platforms like Bandcamp. In addition to his work with the band, Daniel has been active as a DJ in Nashville. He held a year-long position as the house DJ at one venue and performed at several others, showing his ability to work across different musical formats. In 2025, The Druids will release a new album. The first track will come out in October, followed by a series of shows at Nashville venues to promote the release. Daniel Alger of Nashville has also worked at Warwick Guitars, where he served as a Guitar and Bass Quality Control Technician from October 2024 to April 2025. His role involved inspecting instruments to ensure their structural integrity and performance quality before shipment, giving him firsthand experience in instrument quality control. His experience outside of music is diverse. Daniel has worked in multiple industries, including security, delivery, sales, e-commerce, and construction. He spent two years as a licensed security guard at the Governors Club in Brentwood, a gated community where he ensured safety and compliance. He has also worked as a delivery driver for Amazon, a warehouse associate at FedEx Ground, and has driven part-time for Uber for the past three years. His work in construction includes serving as a plumber’s assistant at Aspen Hill Plumbing and taking on manual labor and delivery jobs with Johnson Construction and Page Stonework & Landscape. On the retail side, Daniel worked for two years as a sales associate at a holistic health store in Nashville and held a previous role as an online sales and inventory clerk at Ananda Apothecary in Boulder, Colorado. Daniel Alger of Nashville graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 2014. He completed two Advanced Placement courses and was part of the Communication Arts Program, a four-year honors-level track focused on media, writing, and interdisciplinary studies. This program helped him build strong communication skills that complement his music. He also earned a scholarship to attend Wooten Guitar Camp, a music program hosted by world-renowned bassist Victor Wooten, where he had the chance to learn from seasoned professionals and connect with other musicians. In 2025, Daniel is focusing on releasing The Druids’ latest album, offering online lessons in guitar and bass, and continuing his work as a freelance recording engineer in both studio and live settings. Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, Daniel holds dual citizenship in Brazil and the United States. His multicultural background has enriched his personal and artistic life. He’s a long-time fan of Clube Atlético Mineiro and still plays pick-up hockey when time allows.
