Dr. Kieran A. Slevin's tenure as an Assistant Professor allowed him to develop his leadership skills further. He was elected to the Penn Senate Faculty Executive Committee and the University Council, where he worked closely with senior university leaders. He provided valuable insights and advice to the university's Provost and President on various matters, including faculty intellectual property ownership, campus sustainability initiatives in West Philadelphia, and managing the university's endowment during the financial crisis of 2008.
Dr. Slevin holds a significant role in North American Spine and Pain, an organization he co-founded in 2014. With a dedicated team of over 120 staff members spread across three states, the organization strives to set the gold standard of care in Pennsylvania and its surrounding areas. Specializing in degenerative and herniated discs, extremity pain, nerve injuries, osteoarthritis, sciatica, spinal stenosis, sports-related trauma, sprains, strains, and tendinitis, North American Spine and Pain provides specialized care to over 150,000 patients annually.
In addition to his professional commitments, Dr. Slevin has achieved significant professional accomplishments. He has been a guest speaker at academic conferences worldwide, sharing his expertise and insights. He has delivered lectures in Argentina, Australia, China, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Italy, and Singapore. He is widely recognized as a thought leader in innovative healthcare payment models and is considered a global authority in interventional spine and pain economics. Furthermore, he has undergone additional training in medical acupuncture, nutritional medicine, trauma life support, and advanced cardiac and trauma life support certified by the American Heart Association.
