Drew Doscher

Finance, Entertainment, Food and Beverage
Drew Doscher is a finance professional with over 30 years of experience on Wall Street. He is recognized for his expertise in distressed debt and the credit markets. Throughout his career, Drew has worked with leading firms such as Lehman Brothers, UBS, Barclays, and Jefferies, demonstrating his ability to turn challenges into opportunities and help smaller companies grow into successful businesses. Born and raised in Stuyvesant Town, New York, Drew initially envisioned a career in law enforcement. However, after graduating from the College of Holy Cross in 1991, he entered the financial world by chance. His first job was in the back office of a financial firm, but it wasn’t long before he moved to the trading floor. Drew’s early experience at Oppenheimer & Co., where a well-known Wall Street figure trained him, laid the foundation for understanding distressed bonds and loans. In 1995, he joined Lehman Brothers, where he worked with a leader who taught him the ins and outs of the industry. In 2001, Drew moved significantly to UBS, a global financial company. At UBS, he played a key role in building a distressed trading business in the U.S. and Europe, an area the company had not explored before. Drew worked directly with senior executives and helped UBS become a leading player in the distressed markets. In 2006, Drew moved on to Barclays, where he continued to develop the firm’s distressed debt business globally. After the 2008 financial crisis, Drew saw an opportunity to join Seaport Group in 2009, when it was a small firm with just 40 employees. Under his leadership, Seaport grew into Seaport Global, expanding into Europe and significantly growing its team. Drew’s contributions helped increase the firm’s revenue from under $25 million to $125 million, with revenues never falling below $88 million during tough years. He was responsible for over 20% of the firm's revenue. Drew’s success at Seaport led to an opportunity with Jefferies, where he helped rebuild the firm’s reputation after a scandal. He restructured operations and built a new team, even offering his resignation to protect his team when downsizing was proposed. Later, he went on to build successful credit businesses at BTIG and StoneX, further solidifying his expertise in the industry. Throughout his career, Drew has handled significant financial challenges, including working on restructurings for companies like Enron and WorldCom and guiding firms like Owens Corning and Pacific Gas and Electric through bankruptcy. He is known for his ethical approach to business, earning a reputation as the “honest guy in a dishonest business.” Drew Doscher's leadership and contributions have shaped his career and the firms he’s worked with. His work continues to have a lasting impact on the industry, and his legacy in the finance world is a testament to his dedication and integrity.
