Greater London, England, Great Britain
Originally employed on a temporary basis while still in education, early duties were primarily centred around processing documentation upon receipt and preparing invoices and other pertinent financial records relevant to said documentation. With the transition to full time employment, duties came to encompass the full handling of import shipments (up to a door-to-door basis), supervising the aforementioned documentation procedures, and liaising with management and overseas partners regarding prevailing rates and carrier contracts. Further experience and the development of industrial awareness led to greater responsibilities in a supervisory role. Meticulous handling of work resulted in becoming an interdepartmental liaison for the first company-wide system overhaul and lead front-end staff for troubleshooting its implementation. With its successful rollout, this transformed into a semi-IT associated position which focussed on studying the new system's toolkit to propose, evaluate, and apply strategies for optimising the operations teams' administrative processes. At various points, extensive training was carried out for fellow members of staff for all process-related duties, including the preparation for permanent training materials.
