Etienne N. Ndedi-Strategist in Data Science, Governance and AI ethics
Etienne Ndedi earned his Master of Information and data science at UC Berkeley in 2024 and published “BIASCheck: Minimizing subjectivity in language,” a data science initiative focused on AI transparency and language ethics. Extending these principles to his professional life, Etienne Ndedi is a data governance leader and senior data scientist who has worked in commercial banking, healthcare, life sciences while supporting compliance initiatives through data stewardship and regulatory alignment within the HIPAA and GDPR frameworks.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ndedi has shaped ethical data practices across finance, life sciences, and public health. At Gilead, he implemented a cross-functional governance model supporting clinical research and development, led the data governance rollout, and collaborated with legal teams to define data use policies under GDPR and HIPAA. His work guided platform decisions involving AWS, Azure, and GCP. He has led data modeling for tropical disease monitoring and developed multilingual consent frameworks. In Healthcare, he directed analytics on Medicaid integration, high-cost claimant prediction, and federal regulatory reporting.
Mr. Ndedi also holds certifications in predictive modeling, data structures, and project management from Stanford and Carnegie Mellon. He continues to lead governance efforts that bridge AI capabilities with ethical standards. Outside of work, he follows the Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid soccer teams and speaks French and Spanish conversationally.
