I am a Supervisor overseeing and supporting the work of 15 Security officers while assisting my line manager. Tasks include managing shift rosters to allocate staff levels to an acceptable level in order to achieve primary tasks set out day by day, supporting staff with with their E-learning courses, managing staff leave, ensuring ethical and correct work is being carried out throughout the day, ordering uniform for staff, ensuring quota of vehicle searches are carried out by staff day by day. I am also the point of contact between DSTL and the MGS so communication between both organizations is critical and must remain constant in order to meet DSTL's needs and requirements from myself and our security officers.

Tasks as a security officer includes, checking I.D, searching vehicles, patrolling inside and outside of buildings including the base perimeter, completing e-learning courses involving, sabotage, subterfuge, fraud and bribery. Maintaining the key safe and ensuring keys are drawn out and returned by certain personnel who have permission to do so, checking alarm systems including receiving and making phone calls to secret and top secret rooms which are password protected and only accessible by staff who know this and receive acknowledgement from ourselves. We also protect the site from illegal access of civilians and protestors while we maintain access for our own staff on foot or in vehicles.
