Joseph Rallo is the Chief Executive Officer at E.F. Hutton & Co., a firm he revived in May 2020 with a clear vision to restore its historic reputation in investment banking. Under his leadership, the company quickly became one of the most active IPO underwriters by deal volume in 2022 and early 2023. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Rallo has completed more than 500 transactions, generating over $60 million in proceeds. His leadership style is grounded in discipline, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to clients.
Throughout his career, Rallo has developed broad expertise across financial markets, including initial public offerings (IPOs), special-purpose acquisition (SPAC) offerings, mergers and acquisitions (M&As), debt capital markets, leveraged financing, restructuring, recapitalization, private placements, and risk management. His ability to manage complex deal structures with precision and adaptability has made him a respected figure in the field.
Joe Rallo began his career as a Summer Analyst in Equity Derivatives at Lehman Brothers. After graduating, he spent a decade as Vice President in the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Citizens JMP Securities. He then advanced to Co-Head of Global Investment Banking at Aegis Capital Group, where he refined his leadership skills and strategic insight before founding E.F. Hutton. His leadership philosophy is built on six key principles: lead by example, mentor and empower others, maintain open communication, set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and manage time with intention. He believes long-term success depends on integrity, focus, and strong values.
In 2020, amid the challenges of the global pandemic, Rallo co-founded E.F. Hutton, headquartered in Manhattan. The firm offers corporate, sponsor, and public-private partnerships advisory and financing solutions. Rallo and his team focused on using digital tools to support remote collaboration, ensuring stability and continued service during market disruptions. This approach helped the company grow steadily while maintaining its client-first culture.
Beyond business, Joseph Rallo is a dedicated philanthropist. He and his wife support global causes in education, healthcare, and youth development. He serves on the boards of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and the Rousseau Foundation.
